Dairy Farm Operations & Herd Manager (750+ Cows)
Position Overview
Manage day-to-day dairy operations on a modern 280-hectare rotary dairy estate in New Zealand's premier agricultural region. Attractive package including comfortable 3-bedroom farm homestead.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Supervise daily milking operations, rotary shed hygiene, and pasture rotation
- Maintain herd health, breeding artificial insemination, and calving management
- Manage farm machinery, effluent compliance systems, and feed supplements
- Oversee and train 4 assistant farm assistants
Candidate Requirements & Eligibility Criteria
- Diploma or Degree in Agriculture or equivalent practical experience
- Minimum 4+ years extensive pasture-based dairy farming experience
- Sound knowledge of pasture allocation, herd health, and MINDA records
- Valid driver's license and commitment to animal welfare
